you've found yourself at this website, you're probably (a)
related to us, (b) a friend of the family, (c) bored and curious, or
(d) a prisoner and reading this website as some sort of punishment.
We're the Elicks, but we're also the Carriggs, Burns', Weiss', Browns,
Pergolas, Stricklands, Kilmers, Rhinards, etc....This little website
was started after a little drinking and a good(?) suggestion by my
brother John over the Christmas holiday. The "News" organization has a
staff of 3 (Rayfactor, Stu, and Jenn) and we went online in the latter
part of February, after a prolonged period of putting off the
inevitable.
This site is an updated version of a news-rag that Stu Elick started when he was a boy in the early 1980's. He wrote the paper, basing the news on all of the goings-on in our little hamlet of Osterhout, PA. This was a rural neighborhood where everyone knew everyone else (still is today)....and a "newspaper" was a bit redundant, but Stu made at least a quarter by selling one copy to our neighbor.
If you're reading through the site now, you'll see our names over and over with pictures from different periods of our lives...allow me to introduce my immediate family...those people who are the regulars of the website...and who we more than occassionally poke fun at....
Rayfactor Elick and Rosemary Carrigg were married in 1966 and began having kids a few years later....They ended up having 6 boys and one girl (me). I have three older brothers: Raymond, Charlie, and John, and three younger brothers: Stuart, Justin, and Brendan. Some of them are married, some aren't....some have kids, some don't...We're scattered all over the US, but hug the Eastern seaboard for the most part...You'll see the various family members and relatives as you read along...You'll also find postings of our favorite hobbies, the ways we pass the time, and some of our silliness and indulgences.....
So, place us among your bookmarks...and check in now and again...Heck, send us info on yourself!!!! You never know how the 'not so interesting', trivial, or downright mundane can brighten your day....
